Depression is a frightening topic, but I have experienced it in my life and the lives of those close to me, so I am beginning this blog as a resource of all the things I’ve found about depression and a place for people to talk (or type rather) openly about how depression is affecting or has affected them.

I hope that by doing this I may help others who also suffer from their own and others’ depression.  I will do this from a Catholic perspective, as I am Catholic, but since depression is something that affects everybody, this blog is open to everybody to read and comment on and link to.

Since I am not a doctor or even a college     graduate yet, 99.9% of the content of this blog is based on experience.  If you want a more scientific approach to depression, try this website: Depression and Anxiety.

The name of this blog comes from the fact that even if you are depressed, your life isn’t over yet; you aren’t over yet; the reasons to hope and be happy and glad you are alive aren’t over yet.  If you weather the storm well, the reasons to hope and be glad you’re alive will become clear.  Before every Easter there is a Good Friday.

The URL and my online name come from The Lord of the Rings and the Book of Lost Tales 1, both by J. R. R. Tolkien.  Este is the goddess, or  Ainur of healing.  Anduril is the sword of King Aragorn, who hoped against hope.  This blog is about healing from and fighting against depression.

May we never forget that hope is in God.

    Hi again!
I wanted to ask, that the name of this blog is NOT OVER YET..
do you mean by that, that your depression is not over yet?
or that even if you have depression, your lifes not over, you can still live through each and every day no matter how difficult it might get?

    1. hal786,
yep, that’s it exactly- that life isn’t over just cause it feels miserable. Thanks for mentioning it, I’ll explain that in the about Blog page.
thank you so much for commenting! I’ll check your blog out more tomorrow afternoon!
